Travel to Korea! + Directions

Going to Korea? Enjoy your trip as you go to the country's well-known places. Check out this hotspots that you must go to when you arrive to Korea.


1. Myeongdong 


Explore the shopping mecca of Seoul. It covers 0.99 km² with a population of 3,529 and is mostly a commercial area, being one of Seoul's main shopping and tourism districts.
  • Take Seoul Subway Line #4 and get off at Myeongdong Station (take Exit #5, 6, 7 or 8).

 

2.Myeongdong Cathedral


Myeongdong Cathedral, a feast on a bowl of Myeongdong Gyoja's kalguksu (a yummy soup broth with chewy noodles) . The Cathedral Church of the Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception  is a prominent Latin-rite Roman Catholic church located in the Myeongdong neighborhood of Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The cathedral church is one of the earliest and most notable examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Korea and is a notable symbol of Catholicism in South Korea.


3. Banpo Bridge


Experience the must-see Rainbow Fountain. The Banpo Bridge is a major bridge in downtown Seoul over the Han River, South Korea, connecting the Seocho and Yongsan districts. The Banpo Bridge is on top of Jamsu Bridge, forming a "double deck" bridge.
  • Take Seoul Subway Line #3 and get off at Express Bus Terminal station (take Exit #8). Follow signs to Banpo Bridge. 

 

4. Incheon International Airport


Keep your eyes open! The arrival and departure areas are prime for star sightings! Incheon International Airport is the largest airport in South Korea, the primary airport serving the Seoul National Capital Area, and one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. For seven years in a row (2005–2012), it was rated the best airport worldwide by Airports Council International.


5.  63 City


Head to the Sky Deck for a bird's eye view of Seoul. Facilities include Sky Art and Wax Museums, an IMAX theater and an aquarium. The 63 Building officially the 63 City, is a skyscraper on Yeouido island, overlooking the Han River in Seoul, South Korea.
  • Take Seoul Subway Line #5 and get off at Yeouinaru station (take Exit #4). Walk towards 63 City Building (a gigantic gold building) or take the free shuttle bus.

 

6. Bukchon Hanok Village 


Feel yourself transported back to the Joseon Dynasty as you marvel at a maze of traditional Korean houses. Bukchon Hanok Village is a Korean traditional village with a long history located between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. The traditional village is composed of lots of alleys, hanok and is preserved to show a 600-year-old urban environment. Now it is used as a traditional culture center and hanok restaurant, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the Joseon Dynasty.
  • Take Seoul Subway Line #3 and get off at Anguk station (take Exit #3). Walk straight (brace yourself for a long walk) and turn left at the village entrance with pharmacy at its left corner.




[BONUS!] | The Big Three Companies

 

You sure would want to visit your idol's agencies. So, make sure to stop by the Kpop's top three music companies.

1. SM Entertainment

Address: #521 Apgujeong-Dong, Gangnam-Gu, Seoul
  • Take Seoul Subway Line #2 and get off at Apgujeong station (take Exit #2). Take bus #41, 143 or 4418 and get off at Cheongdam Elementary School bus stop. Walk towards Galleria Department Store. It is the building near Kia Motors.

 

2. YG Entertainment 

Address: 397-5 YG Building Hapjeong-Dong, Mapo-Gu, Seoul
  • Take Seoul Subway Line #2 and get off at Hapjeong Station (take Exit #8). Walking straight, turn right after passing SK Gas Station and walk further on. It is one the left side.

3.  JYP Entertainment

Address: 123-50, Cheongdam-Dong,  Gangnam-Gu, Seoul
  • From SM Entertainment, walk straight, away from Galleria Department Store (East Wing), walking until Shinhan Bank appears at the left corner. Turn left at the corner and keep walking. It is at the left side, in front of Dunkin' Donuts.
